Welcome to the First Annual Willowbrook Jr Warriors MLK Weekend Shootout!

We’re excited to host feeder and school-based programs from across the area for a weekend of competitive basketball and community spirit. This one-of-a-kind event will bring together boys and girls teams in grades 6–8th, with A & B divisions to ensure balanced matchups. Our goal is to provide a fun, well-organized tournament that honors the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect while giving every player a memorable experience.

Why We Host This Tournament

The Willowbrook Jr Warriors program is proud to launch the MLK Weekend Shootout as both a competitive basketball event and a community celebration. This tournament serves as a key fundraiser for our travel basketball program, helping to offset costs for families and support scholarships that ensure every child has the opportunity to play. Just as importantly, it reflects the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by bringing together diverse teams, fostering respect, and building connections across communities.

TEAM ENTRY FEE:	$275
REGISTRATION DEADLINE:	November 1, 2025
FORMAT:	One‑day tournaments with four‑team pools (round robin), 3 game guarantee
ELIGIBILITY:	Feeder/School/Travel programs only where the majority of players will attend the same high school; No AAU/select club teams

PAYMENT DEADLINE:	December 1, 2025
REFUND DEADLINE:	No Refunds After 12/18/25
GAME TIMES:	May start as early as 9am; last games end by 9pm
ADMISSIONS:	$10 per day per spectator; Seniors 62+ $5 per day; Veterans and active-duty military free (with ID); Children 12 and under free
CONCESSIONS:	Full concessions available on site

FAQ

How many games? 3 per team, round‑robin format.
Is my spot confirmed when I register? Payment secures your registration. Division preference is only confirmed when payment is received and is first come, first served.
Can teams play up/down a grade? We prefer grade‑level play; requests considered for competitive balance.
When will schedules be released? By 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
What equipment should we bring? Warm‑up balls and water. Game balls are provided.
Do coaches pay admission? Two coaches are admitted per rostered team.
What do the winning teams receive? All players receive a tournament t‑shirt; championship shirts awarded to division winners
